Queensland adjudication

The ABC Dispute Resolution Service has over a decade of experience in the field of adjudication and security of payment in the Australian construction industry.

Prior to 15 December 2014, ABC DRS was a registered Authorised Nominating Authority (“ANA”) in Queensland under the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act, 2004 (“BCIP Act”) and was able to appoint adjudicators to decide adjudication applications.

Queensland is about to embark on a new era with the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (BIF) receiving Royal Assent on 10 November 2017 but yet to be enacted (anticipated 1 January 2018).  This sees the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act 2004 and the Subcontractors’ Charges Act 1974 repealed.

Claimant’s wishing to make an adjudication application should contact the Queensland Adjudication Registrar at the Queensland Building and Construction Commission on 139 333 or visit www.qbcc.gov.qld.au for further information.

Adjudicator agency services

ABC DRS now provides registered Queensland adjudicators with comprehensive agency services, required by the terms of the adjudicator’s registration under the BCIP Act. Adjudicators seeking agency services are encouraged to contact ABC DRS for details of the services provided by ABC DRS.
