ABC DRS keeps Queensland up to speed on security of payment with expert training

On November 5 this year, ABC DRS held yet another successful training session on the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act (“BCIPA”), the security of payment regime in place in Queensland.

Our expert trainers Stephen Pyman (Principle – CDI Lawyers) and Troy Lewis (Partner – Holding Redlich) led 17 attendees from firms such as Cullen Group and Brisbane Airport Corporation through all the hoops and potential pitfalls of BCIPA.

The attendees were given formal instruction in how the act is used and how to ensure construction contracts are written and built with security of payment kept in mind.

Examples of real life construction cases related to Australian security of payment law were interrogated along with robust discussion on court and adjudication outcomes provided the attendees with practical examples to relate to in their day-to-day work.
