Western Australia Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 | Intensive Course
This course will focus on the fundamental issues surrounding the Western Australia Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 (BCISOPA). The training will explain your rights, obligations and liabilities in respect to payment claims, payment schedules, adjudication applications, adjudication responses and adjudication determinations.
Western Australia introduced significant legislative changes for the local industry since the 2004 introduction of the Construction Contracts Act 2004. This bought change to the way the legislation operated for all stakeholders and applies to the vast majority of construction contracts entered into within the industry on or after 1 August 2022.
This course will bring you up to date with the significant changes which will effect all industry practitioners immediately from 1 August 2022.
You will be trained on your new obligations in respect to payment claims, payment schedules, adjudication applications and adjudication responses.
You will be able to gain expert knowledge from two leading lawyers who specialise in construction disputes in an open, interactive and friendly environment.
